The good, the bad, the blessings & the chaos of being Caribbean-American
Author: Jeannine G.
Dizzily started this blog on the brink of 2010 (see way down below), but LIFE happened and I forgot about it. Now it's 2019 and I've got too many things swirling in my brain with nowhere to unleash them. Ergo...I'm baaaaaack and you, darlings, are my (un)willing victims. In nine years, I've moved a few times, launched (and closed) a few businesses, watched my oldest son graduate from high school and start college, lost my mother-in-law to cervical cancer, survived two Category 5 hurricanes within two weeks, dealt with my son surviving the massacre at his high school in Parkland, FL , celebrated 20 years married to my favorite dude on the planet, experienced many life-changing miracles (including my sister's kidney transplant!), and have had my faith tested in multiple ways, including a rancid act of betrayal. But life goes on...and I'm a SURVIVOR!
So who the heck am I exactly?
As a luxury hospitality industry guru, I'm unapologetically Caribbean, yet totally American. I'm the perfect example of an imperfect Christian, a (sorta) feminist who is the mom of two brilliant teenaged boys, an adoring wife, a loyal friend to a dangerous fault and the best darn sister or daughter you could ever ask for. I speak pretty good Spanglish and own a Spanish B.A. degree to prove it.
In my blog, you can expect a point of view that holistically and vivaciously unleashes all of who I am. Join me... Let's LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH, CRY and WIN while exploring my zany Caribbean-American life!
ORIGINAL BLOG INTRO: 2010
On the verge of entering the second decade of the new millennium, I made a "New-You" resolution. I love writing and I've been told I do it very well. So while I have a long way to go before becoming the next James Patterson, Danielle Steele or Joel Osteen, I'll just toodle along on my new blog about my zany life in the Caribbean. While I enjoy being an American, I'm an island gal first. After all, ain't 'island life sweet'?
